A math teacher teaches math. His student´s study math.

After school, students do their homework.

In elementary school, children learn to read and write.

A university teacher gives a lecture, and the students take notes.

Students take courses in colleges and schools. At the end of the course, you often have to take an exam. You hope to pass your exams. You don´t want to fail your exams.

If you complete your courses and pass the exams at a university, you get a degree

TUTORIA PARA ALUMNOS DE LA SABINO PIGNATARI

UNIDAD 3 TOTAL ENGLISH ELEMENTARY

Esta unidad es simple y rápida porque vemos la forma negativa e interrogativa del verbo Presente Simple y además un verbo nuevo en presente que es el verbo CAN, que significa PODER, como habilidad física. Ejemplo: I can swim. Yo puedo nadar.

I can play the piano. Yo puedo tocar el piano.

Con Mónica Santi ya vieron lo que es el presente simple en todas sus formas por lo que pueden completar la ejercitación del libro:

A continuación les explico que hacer en cada ejercicio:

En la pagina 25 de introducción a la unidad tienen imagenes de gente haciendo diferentes actividades, en el punto 1, tienen que unir los verbos con las imagenes.

cook= cocinar

dance= bailar

go for a walk= salir a caminar

go shopping= ir de compras

go to a concert= ir a un concierto

go to the gym= ir al gimnasio

listen to music= escuchar musica

meet friends = encontrarse con amigos

play football= jugar al fútbol

play the guitar= tocar la guitarra

read a book= leer un libro

magazaine= revista

sunbathe= broncearse

swim= nadar

watch TV= ver television

a video = un video

En el ejercicio C tiene que ubicar cada actividad en el cuadro siguiendo las siguientes categorias en orden de izquierda a derecha:

En casa, en el parque, en un negocio o comercio, en un boliche o club nocturno, en un concierto, en un centro deportivo, o pileta de natación.

En el ejercicio 2 tiene que escribir dos actividades que hagan, donde las hacen y cuando.

En el 2 b, hacerle al compañero preguntas:

Que actividad haces tu? Dónde la haces? Cuándo la haces?, en el ejemplo tienen: Mark toca el piano. El lo toca en casa.....

Starting again!!!

We are finishing a step in our education, a part of our lives that soon are going to be only memories. And we fell sad and happy at the same time, sad because we loose touch with people we care of, and happiness to know that a long process has already finish to give place to another new one.

Saying goodbye is always difficult, but at least I feel that I did my best, and I wish you new adventures in the life of learning, and of course you know where you can find me every time you feel you need me.

I´m so happy to know that in the end you all finish together and made efforts to continue this four years. Congratulations!!! It´s time to start again!

Personal Comments

Hi all! I want to share something personal..... I love cats!, They are misterious, like mistic, and very intelligent, I have had a lot of cats in my life, and I want to show you my last two cats. Lady Crochè and Mia Wild. Lady Crochè died in 2009 from Cancer, she suffered a lot and I did everything I could to help her. The thing that she died in the anniversary of my grandma death was very painful for me. So I uploaded her video to remember and share with all the persons that loves cats.

My other cat is Mia Wild, as her name says, is very violent and in this video she wants to play, and she is very obedient. Now she lives with my mum because my son didn´t let her breath!!

REVISION 1: WRITING A COMPOSITION ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY.

Objective: Summarize all the information you know about your country with your knowledge in grammar and vocabulary.

REVISION 2: SPEAKING: DEBATE

Objective: Improve conversational skills when supporting a point of view

Activity: Debate about the question of whether men and women are truly equal.

Outline:

· Review language used when expressing opinions, disagreeing, making comments on other person's point of view, etc. (See work sheet)

· Write a few ideas on the board to encourage discussion of the equality between men and women: the workplace, the home, government, etc.

· Ask students if they feel that women are truly equal to men in these various roles and places.

· Based on students' responses, divide groups up into two groups. One group arguing that equality has been achieved for women and one that feels that women have not yet attained true equality to men. Idea: Put students into the group with the opposite opinion of what they seemed to believe in the warm-up conversation.

· Give students worksheets including ideas pro and con. Have students develop arguments using the ideas on the worksheet as a springboard for further ideas and discussion.

· Once students have prepared their opening arguments, begin with the debate. Each team has 5 minutes to present their principal ideas.

· Have students prepare notes and make rebuttal to the expressed opinions.

· While the debate is in progress, take notes on common errors made by the students.

· At the end of debate, take time for a short focus on common mistakes. This is important, as students should not be too involved emotionally and therefore will be quite capable of recognizing language problems - as opposed to problems in beliefs!

You are going to debate whether women are finally truly equal to men. Use the clues and ideas below to help you create an argument for your appointed point of view with your team members. Yes, Women Are Now Equal To Men.

· Many governments have both male and female representatives.

· Many companies are now owned or managed by women.

· A lot of progress has been made since the 1960s.

· Television series now portray women as successful career makers.

· Men now share in the raising of children and household responsibilities.

· Many important laws have been passed to ensure equality in the workplace.

· In many places, a married couple can choose whether the man or the women takes leave from work to look after the newly arrived baby.

· People aren't discussing equality anymore. It has become a reality.

· Have you ever heard of Margaret Thatcher?

Excuse Me? Women Still Have A Long Way to Go Before They Are Equal To Men.

· Women still earn less than men in many work situations.

· Women are still portrayed in a superficial manner in many television shows.

· Look at international sporting. How many professional female leagues are as successful as their male counterparts?

· Most governments still are made up in their majority of men.

· We are having this debate because women are not equal. Otherwise, there would be no need to discuss the matter.

· Women are often not given enough responsibility based on the possibility that they might become pregnant.

· The number of sexual harassment suits have increased over the past 10 years.

· Hundreds of years of history can't have been changed in a mere 30 odd years.
